By default, WordPress uses\u00a0Gravatar<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0service to display the user\u2019s profile picture. The profile picture is based on the user\u2019s email address. If the user does not have a gravatar account then the profile picture will display a default image placeholder which is called \u201cMystery Man\u201d.<\/p>\n\n

If you want to use something other than Gravatar service then you can try WordPress plugins that come with functionality of changing the user\u2019s profile picture. For example, Simple Local Avatars<\/strong><\/a> plugin:<\/p>\n
